1. What types of fish can we expect to catch?

Depending on the Charter Experience and location, you may encounter species such as Whiting, Garfish, Squid, and other favourites.  Please note that ther is currently a Snapper ban in the West Coast.  Spencer Gulf, and the Gulf St Vincent. Snapper can only be caught in the South East Fishing Zone until June 30th, 2026.

2. What is included in the charter packages?

All fishing gear, bait, tackle, safety equipment, and your fishing licence are included. We also provide light refreshments - soft drinks and water on board.

3. How long is each charter trip?

4. How many passengers can you take?

Accepted Answer

Our boat comfortably accomodates up to 10 passengers per trip, with a minimum of 6 guests required for a booking.

5. Do I need prior fishing experience?

Accepted Answer

Not at all you do not need prior fishing experience !

Our crew caters to all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned anglers.  Just let us know prior to boarding and we can accommodate your needs.

6. What should I bring?

Accepted Answer

Your safety comes first! We provide 50+ sunscreen if needed and recommend a hat, long sleeves, sunglasses, and suitable no slip footwear (as it may get wet).  Don't forget snacks, drinks, and a camera to capture your adventure.

7. Are kids allowed on the charter boat or cruise?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for safety reasons, Catch 22 SA Charters only welcomes children aged 7 and older on the standard fishing charters.

Exceptions may be made for custom cruises or private events. Please contact us to discuss suitable options for younger guests and need to be organised well in advance.

The Terms and Condition for being Accompanied by an Adult form must be signed.

We provide appropriately sized life jackets.

If you wish to bring children younger than 7 you will need to book a Customised Charter and it would be the Adults responsibility to care for the children.

8. What happens if the weather is bad?

Accepted Answer

Safety is our No 1 priority.

In the event of unsafe weather or other safety risks, the skipper may cancel the charter. In this case, you may choose to reschedule or receive a refund (minus the deposit).

It will be at the disgression of the Captain to decide if the booking will be cancelled.

9. Can we keep the fish we catch?

Yes—subject to South Australian fishing regulations regarding size and catch limits.

10. Is alcohol allowed onboard?

Accepted Answer

Alcohol Policy - BYO alcohol is permitted. We ask that all guests drink responsibly and in moderation.

The Boat Passengers Safety comes first, so intoxicated passengers will not be allowed to participate.

Please be responsible or you will have to deal with the Captain!

11. Where do we launch the boat and depart from?

Our charters leave from North Haven Boat Ramp with convenient amenities nearby

On arrival, you’ll find clear signage to direct you to our meeting point.

The marina is well-equipped with convenient facilities, including The Sailmaster Tavern, a playground, and plenty of nearby amenities to ensure a comfortable experience for all guests.

For ease of access, a Google Maps link will also be available on our website

12. How do I book and pay?

Bookings can be made via phone, email, or online. We accept major payment methods including Cash and Bank Transfer.

Yes - we can tailor trips for groups, special occasions and corporate groups.

14. Do I need a fishing licence?

No - you don’t need a fishing license when fishing with Catch 22 SA Charters.

As a fishing charter operator in South Australia, we are fully licensed and permitted to take guests fishing under our license. This means all passengers on board are covered - no individual recreational fishing license is required. Just bring yourself and your sense of adventure, we’ll take care of the rest!
